Sohu Does Video Sharing

Sohu VideoSince last week, there were truemors that Sohu was going to launched a video sharing service. Now the wait is over, Sohu video sharing launched.

Instead of promoting video sharing as a separate service, Sohu put video sharing as a sub-channel under its blogging service. Accompanying every video clip, there’s a button to paste the video to Sohu blog in one click.

Users have to install a browser plug-in to upload video. The size of the video is limited to 100M. You are not asked to vote or rate the video like in other services, instead there’s a radio button for you to classify the video with moving, funny, crazy, warm and cool. There’s a reference button. By clicking it, it shows statistics of inbound links of this video from other websites.

On user’s personal profile, there’s a video gadget to play multiple videos in a batch. The playlist is customizable. The service is not only feature rich, but also using cutting edge technology like Adobe ActionScript3, as reported by geeks.

Sohu also seems to be giving up page view by adopting Ajax in video list sorting.
