Lend.com.cn: Online Lending Platform
Lend.com.cn(借物网) is a Shanghai-based free, at least free currently, online platform to lend stuffs to and borrow from other users. It just launched recently with only 325 stuffs available now.
After registration, it is required for users to fill in their real name, ID number and residence, and upload the scanned ID card to be verified by the site, otherwise, you can not borrow any stuff and your published lending information should be reviewed by site administrators before showing in the site. Any verified users should publish at least 3 lending information before borrowing, and can only borrow at most 3 stuffs per day.
Currently, most of the stuffs for lending are DVDs/VCDs, music albums, books, game softwares, toys and tools. And in fact, some users are taking this site as a C2C platform to sell second-hand stuffs rather than lending.
Flickr-like group function is also available for users to discuss any topic.
Not sure whether the real identities requirement will make people hesitate to register as verified users, but it do differentiate itself by efforts to building trusts between users. And trusts is one of the key successful factors of social networking sites.

Thanks for all your information here at first.
It is a brilliant idea to set up an English blog and introduce what is happening in China’s Internet industry to the world.
I visited this Lend.com.cn just now. I have to say that I don’t like it at the first sight — too bad it copied Douban.com’s webpage design and UI.
The idea is kind of creative but can its owners be even more creative in terms of webpage style?
Let’s say plagiary is the salute to the original work…
