Mangbar: A Collaborative Online Memo

MangbarMangbar (忙吧), which in Chinese means “busy”, is a collaborative online memo. Mangbar is intended to be a useful web-based productivity tool for users, which is uncommon among China’s web 2.0 players. It’s English introduction and tour further makes it different from others in China.

TasksAccording to its tour, Mangbar is an online-memo, which can be used as private memo or project memo for project team members. In Mangbar, users can create project, add tasks, add to do list, set timeline, customize project logo, invite other project members for collaboration, comment and discuss and so on. Users can also create writeboard to take notes with WYSIWYG editor, upload files and compare changes between any two versions. Any project or writeboard can be configured to be private, only open to invited users or open to public.

Though Mangbar’s functions are less powerful than Backpack or other online productivity tools, I still like Mangbar. Because there are few startups who are trying to explore this market in China, I hope more web 2.0 startups like Mangbar will pay more attention on productivity tool market rather than on social networking or video sharing market.

Last time when I tested mangbar, it made my firefox froze. So I never touched it again. For such kind of productive service, stableness is as important as features if not more. The first thing is to establish reputation, so that users believe their data will be available when they need it.

[...] We haven’t covered many productive tools on this blog. The only one I can find is Mangbar, which is an online memo, todo list, collaborative space, and a market for finding new partners. It’s a quite complete ecosystem for getting things done. [...]

  5. Wealink Integrates With Mangbar, Social Network Not Time-Wasting Site Anymore : China Web2.0 Review on October 27th, 2007 2:12 pm

[...] During the last several days, Shanghai-based business social network Wealink rolled out a new version. The most siginificant change is a new tab which interegates with online collaboration service Mangbar. Mangbar is a two-person project, which provides small-sized project management and community. We profiled the service back in last October. [...]
