Souyo Rolled Out Major Update
Souyo, a Chinese blog search engine (profile), released a new version recently, added many new features and made major progress in its way to be a China’s Technorati.
The new features of this updated version include:
- You can add blog posts and blogs as favorites in search result;
- Then you can read the latest posts from your favorite blogs in a mini Ajax reader, similar to Technorati’s Favorite service
- You can subscribe a syndicated feed o others’ favorite blogs to get updated post from those blogs
- You can find users who share similar interests in blog reading.
- You can claim your blogs, something like what you do in Technorati
- Your photo will appear besides your blog posts in search results after you claim your blogs.
- Add Souyo search service in your blogs
- A totally new designed homepage
As I said before, Souyo has the most features in China’s blog search engines, in first glance, it looks like a China’s Technorati. But it need to pay more attention on its basic search capabilities, such as indexing more Chinese blogs and improving relevancy of its search results. They should make more significant progress in those search capabilities before they become a useful search engines.
