Sogou, the search engine by Chinese portal site Sohu, is testing its own Google pagerank-like service, Sogou Rank. (via ilmay.cn)
Sohu has yet announced the service, and you can not find the introduction on Sogou’s website. But you can use link:[site url] to search in Sogou to know Sogou Rank value for your site. The Sogou Rank is mainly based on the links to the site, similar to Google’s pagerank.
Different from that of Google’s pagerank, Sogou Rank’s value rangs from 1 to 100. The Sogou Rank for CWR is 51 ( I just found many blogs have rank values of 51). Sohu’s own rank is 89, while sina is 86, Baidu is 83 and Google is 84.
Though I think Sogou want to use this Rank to gain more attention in market and from users, it will not help much for Sogou to win market share in Chinese search market, which is dominated by Baidu and Google.
