Sina’s Web Chatting Tool
As I reported earlier in April, Sina was testing a web based chatting tool called Woocall, which is similar to Gabbly. And recently. Sina decided to allow anyone to use Woocal in their own blogs or websites.
From Woocall’s site:
Woocall is an easy and accessible communications tool supplied by Sina for all internet users, for the purpose of allowing those surfers who are on the same web page to have an easy opportunity to chat with one another. The once isolated users who shared similar interests can now bond through Woocall and enjoy surfing the internet together as a community.
Sina has offered Woocall service on their 2006 German World Cup site, Super Voice Girl site and some other pages. You can see the demo on Woocall’s site.
Now it is open for bloggers and webmasters to use it in their blogs and websites freely, but you have to send an email to sina for approval.
I just found something interesting in Woocall’s site. It is said that Woocal was invented by Siner, that’s the people of sina. But Siner is different from other workers of Sina, because they have one more eye than the other workers. “When our two eyes are looking straight ahead, we also open our third eye to the skies, always hoping to come up with the newest, most unique product that brings a sparkle to your eye or simply improve the existing products to become even better.”

[...] I’ve mentioned about some web IMs before, but somehow I’m still stuck on using Meebo. But found this entry talking about SINA’s Woocall. This could be a good web IM tool, but I will never know because it takes too much damn work to implement it on my website. Just look at their requirements. ”For those who are interested in adding Woocall, all you need is: 1.Carefully read our service statement and privacy protection policy. 2.Agree with our service contract and protection policy. 3.Copy and paste the service statement and privacy protection policy onto a word document and voice out your agreement on it, as well as add the main web page of where you want to add on Woocall so to show the content of the web site or company. Then send this document to woocall@vip.sina.com for approval. 4.We’ll quickly send you an approval through email, along with the newest version of Woocall and documents needed to help you install Woocall on your website.” [...]
