I guess it was only inevitable that Baidu got into the SNS, 个人空间 market, but how will they differentiate themselves? Will they leverage their Baidu MP3 search functions?
The Baidu spaces design seems better (or at least cleaner) than many of the other SNSs (wangyou, mop, uume, etc.), but I’m curious to know if Baidu is really going to make a big push for this service or doing it just to jump on the SNS bandwagon.
Whether they put signficant resources behind Baidu spaces or not, the battle over the entire Chinese SNS market will be interesting as there doesn’t seem to be a huge amount of differentiation among the competitors. Any thoughts on how this market will play out?
Supposedly, Myspace in Chinese is going to launch sometime this summer and it will be interesting to see if they can gain traction among the Chinese masses.
