Wangyou Media Raises Funding From CRV

Wangyou MediaCharles River Ventures(CRV) announced an investment in Wangyou Media(网友天下) yesterday, but no more details on investment amounts was disclosed. It is the first investment of CRV in China.

Wangyou Media, a Redherring Asia 100 company, provides blogging, podcasting, photo sharing and other social networking services. From its webpage:

Through our cross-media platform, the Company [Wangyou Media] focuses on promoting user-generated content (UGC) — a process of creating, sharing, organizing and distributing all kinds of digital amateur works, including personal diaries, photo albums, radio talk shows, home movies, flash animation, cartoons and more.

According to the report, Bill Tai, a partner of CRV, said that CRV is negotiating the investment with Maxthon.
