Snappark: Collaborative Image Gallery

Snappark logoSnappark, orgianlly called Cnow, launched in August 2007, is a collaborative image gallery. Its core feature is public image set. Every image set has a topic by the creator. Then everyone is able to contribute to the set by uploading relevant images. It’s just like a Wiki page that everybody can add content, but with image not words.

Now this service has launched a new version. And also changed the name from Cnow to Snappark, as well as the domain name. The main changes, according to the development log, are anonymous support and several social features. Users are able to add content without login. And they can also follow other users and subscribe to latest changes of certain image set.

The original idea is certainly new and innovative, but didn’t take off. Collaborative image gallery is a nice-to-have product, but fine without it. So it doesn’t have a large target user base. In the new version, it adds a lot of social features. But it should rather focus on tweaking its core feature set. User don’t come because of any social feature.

Snappark is now based in Beijing. Team members are from Taiwan and Mainland China.
